Welcome Bloggers!!!!
What is a Blog?
It is a Web site, maintained by a single individual, that has regular entries of commentary or news. Blog commentary or news can come in many forms, it can contain personal information about the specific individual that maintains the blog. For example, a mother that keeps an updated blog of her children, so that the relatives that are from far away can have up to date photos, news, and upcoming events that may be happening specific to her children. Or it could be used by a college student that archives or journals university activities and academic accomplishments that can be used as a electronic resume upon graduation.
The blog contains text, images, and links to related information on other blogs, Web pages, and media. Readers can reply easily and participate in discussion specific to the content that is present on the blog. By replying or commenting on blogs the readers are able to share their knowledge and reflect on the topic. The great things about blogs is by promoting this open dialogue, bloggers from all over are getting connected and exchanging ideas, opinions, and viewpoints otherwise unavailable if using other forms of communication like television or printed text.
So if this is a Blog, what does that make you?
A blogger.
A blogger is someone that reads, comments, or creates blogs. So even if this is your first blogging experience, you are considered a blogger. And what is one truth about Bloggers.....they are connected. We share the news or events as we see them and experience them. We are quick to state out likes or dislikes about products, books, technology, or even businesses. And the great thing is, companies and consumers are paying attention to the comments that are made by bloggers. We are changing the way things are done and our opinion does matter more then we think it does.
